Friendly Friday Fill-ins!

When you see these two cute cats on this badge you know it’s Friday and you know it is time for Friendly Friday Fill-ins hosted by Annie at McGuffy’s Reader and Ellen at 15andmeowing. If you would like to link up and join the fun just click on the badge… it’s that easy!

This picture really has not one thing to do with Ellen and Annie’s Fill-ins today but I found it and it made me smile AND I can’t do a post without a picture AND, AND, AND, a shooting star is a symbol of good luck. It seemed appropriate today for a lot of reasons. You should always see a shooting star with a friend and I have one in mind… she should know who she is. She wisely told me to focus on the positive yesterday and what better way to do that then to do the Fill-ins!

  1. Before you eat chili, you need to grab the jar of peanut butter so that you can have a little bite of PB with every bite of chili.
  2. After my riding lessons when I was a kid my Mom took me to Steak and Shake for one of their awesome grilled ham sandwiches. I don’t think they are on the menu now. I have the sweetest memories of those lunches with my Mom.
  3. Winter can be a beautiful season, especially to photograph. But winter has not been playing nice and I think I have had enough of it… even though it can be beautiful… focusing on the positive here!
  4. Spring is a time of rioting joyful little flower faces and the hurried feathery efforts of birds to find prime real estate to raise their families. Mr. Tanager comes back to the Tiny Ten around the 15th of April. We may miss him this year, but that’s okay because he knows the Tiny Ten is his summer home.

So, that is it, that’s what I have for this Friday!

Thank you to Annie and Ellen for the HAPPY of the Friday Fill-ins!

  1. Oh how I ADORE Pooh and all his friends….shooting stars remind me of hope and dreams and believing all things are possible. It’s a perfect ANY DAY picture. Love your fill-ins….but I must say I had never thought of chili and PB and would love to know how about it – so spill ! I’ve gotta know! I loved Steak and Shake….ours here was a drive-in and I adored ANY drive-in because it seemed such a treat to sit in your car and have someone bring you food….lol. We’re tired of winter here too – it just won’t give us a break although we’ve had little snow. It’s just been so very cold, so very windy, and gray gray depressing clouds. I’m READY…..COME ON SPRING – I wanna give you a HUG!

    Love to you, Pam

    1. Chili, eaten with a blob of PB on the side. Bite of chili held in mouth, bite of PB added to bit of chili already in mouth… delicious. Or if you prefer, PB on a saltine… bite of chili with bite of PB covered saltine!
Pooh is magic. I finally purchased the Tao of Pooh but have not had time to sit down and read it. There will be a time when it is perfect to curl up with it.Focusing on the positive here, sweet Pam ♥ Spring is here… 😉
Sending some love and hugs back to you!

      1. That’s my girl……there’s STRENGTH in “positive” so hold on tight. As for the PB/Chili thing I hereby SWEAR I’m gonna try it. I love PB and love chili so what’s not to like????!!! I bet that book is amazing – Pooh always says so much in so few words – gotta love that!

I know Spring is there but it sure as heck is taking it’s dingy dangy time getting HERE!

        Love, Pam and the Bean

  2. I love this family ritual to have lunch together after riding lessons… our ritual after the riding lessons with my grampy was the epic concluding sentence: we better don’t tell that your granny ;o) it often ended with bruises and some tears, but it was the greatest time I ever had ;O)

  3. So glad to see you posting again, Pix! I, too, have never heard of peanut butter and chili! Sounds interesting.
And yes, spring can’t get here soon enough for me. Love seeing all the little green sprouts of perennials peeping through the soil!

    1. Spring is casually taking its time… 🙂 My posting is not consistent, I do it when it hits me. I get in trouble if I try to post on specific days. Better for me to fly by the seat of my pants… both with blogging and life in general!

  4. Pooh is always loved and welcomed here. I have never heard of peanut butter and chile before but I’M sure I will at least think of it the next time we have chile.
I can’t wait for tbe Spring flowers to start blooming, they are popping out all over the place.

  5. I have to disagree with you about the peanut butter. I hate the stuff!

I love the Spring. There’s always so much to see, it’s always exciting.

  6. That Pooh picture made me smile too. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I never knew about PB with chili, good tip. That is nice that you have sweet memories of lunches with your mom and cool that you took riding lessons. Do you ever ride now? We have never had a tanager, but I look forward to the hummingbirds returning in May. Have a wonderful weekend! XO

    1. I have not ridden in a couple of years. The cardiac stent thing seemed to kill my physical stamina. I have a boarding barn down the road from The Tiny Ten and they let me play there with grooming and getting my barn fix. Our Tanager loves to work with CH! You have a great weekend, too… XO

    1. Thank you for the kind words about the header. She loved cars… this picture was about 6 years ago and she drove an hour to our place to show us her new car ♥ She is actually CH’s Mom but she was my Mom, too… 🙂 Thank you so much for the visit!

  8. Pix, this entire post made me smile! I am so happy that you joined us, and brought along Pooh.
I loved the memory you shared, too. I always wished I could learn to ride. RA prevented that.

    1. Pooh is always a welcome guest… 🙂 I have been thinking a lot about my Mom lately. She seems very close. I know that she is thinking about us right now. I am sorry you did not get to ride. It was all I thought about the first 50 years of my life. I still think about it all the time… 🙂 I understand how a health issue can get in the way. Good Morning to you!
