Friendly Fill-ins ~ Week #44

It is Friday Friendly Fill-in time… where did this week go? You can find the Fill-ins at McGuffy’s Reader and 15andmeowing on Thursday. That gives you some time to think about your Fill-ins instead of doing them at the last minute like I am doing this morning… think storms and no internet yesterday. Just click on the badge above to take you to other blogs that have participated!

  1. I hope Gilmore Girls gets renewed for another season. Yep, I know Gilmore Girls is done and finished. But I just got hooked on this show. Where was I back in 2000 when this show started? Never heard of it until last month when I found it on TV in the wee hours of the morning when I couldn’t sleep.
  2. My first crush was tall, dark, and handsome… almost 16 hands tall, dark bay, and went by the name of Sugarfoot. I was one of those lucky young horse loving girls that found a bow on the stall door and my first horse inside on Christmas morning!
  3. Chopping onions usually makes me cry. Unless I have my contacts on, and then it doesn’t affect me at all. Had this discussion last week. Having contacts on while chopping onions held back the tears for most people.
  4. If I were a super-hero, I would be a befuddled one. I can’t even begin to imagine myself as a super-hero. But I would love to have super-hero powers and see that all kitties were never intentionally hurt by humans. All kitties were safe and in homes where they were loved and respected until the very end… held until their last breath. This hope/wish is not limited to felines.

  1. Oh what GREAT filling in my friend………..somehow I am not ONE BIT surprised at any of your answers…..AND they made me smile. The last one MIGHT have left me with a bit of a tear….but I absolutely agree with you – that’s the way I want to “go” too…….one day a long time from now! Happy Friday – Tell CH it’s “National Potato Cake Day”……. 🙂

      1. It’s true only ME would know about it because only I made it up (but don’t tell CH that!). Tee Hee on Dewey……wonder whatever happened to him. Somehow I picture him as bald and weighing about 4oo lbs.

            1. Hahaha! I think I might get potato cakes tonight! I have wanted them so bad since you mentioned them that I told CH to make some mashed potatoes this afternoon and “we” will make potato cakes! The snow makes me want comfort food!

  2. oh I bet your first love was the love all girls dreamed about :o) my first love was Loki, bought from a circus… and that in a year my grampy had to deal with faulty wheat and lost the whole harvest…. my granny nearly swooned that he bought a poney instead of farm-stuff but I was the happiest girl of the world :O)

    1. Your Grampy… a good man! I can understand your happiness. Loki is a cool name! I can see you riding Loki bareback, your long hair blowing in the wind as you loped over one of Grampy’s fields!

      1. ummmm… nearly… I had to take riding lessons first and I had to wear this ugly black bucket like helmets …eeeewww…no one could see the fab black pocahontas wig with the eagle feather I wore to look like pocahontas :o)

        1. I took riding lesson at a frufru riding school in St. Louis for about a year. I had already been riding horses at my Granddad’s farm but I think the lessons made me a safer rider. But you know… stuff happens! Pictures of pocahontas? I have seen some pictures of you on a horse. I have very few if any pictures of me with horses, I was too busy riding them. There is a picture of two year old me on top of a gray mare at my Granddad’s. I know it is somewhere but I don’t know where. My family were not picture takers. I hate that now because I hardly have any pictures of my family and they are all gone now. I love the thought of you being pocahontas… 🙂

    1. You too for Gilmore Girls… yay! I was working retail in 2000 and probably came home, had dinner, and crashed on the couch! It is the best show since I was hooked on Family back in 1976! Good Morning!

    #3 ~> Yup.

#4 ~> wouldn’t it be nice if we ALL used our super powers to be kind and compassionate to each other, to animals, to plants, and to the planet!

  5. None of your answers really surprised me 🙂 I am so not wanting the weather for this weekend. I’ll be running around this afternoon doing the best I can to save what I can. The trees are on their own and that makes me sad. On the bright side we get to have a couple more fires in the fireplace ♥

    1. I am brokenhearted about all the plants, flowers, and trees outside! We will be doing what you are doing… trying to save what we can. CH is out putting down grass seed, it’s 34 degrees and windy here but he says the snow does wonderful things to the grass seed! A fire in the fireplace sounds lovely!

  6. Thank you for those great answers to the fill-ins. You were very lucky to get a horse for Christmas, cute name too. It is fun to discover old shows that are new to us. I like what you would do as a super-hero. Have a great weekend!

    1. I was very lucky to get a horse for Christmas. We ran a boarding barn and I did not have a horse of my own. My Mom and Dad wanted to make sure I would be responsible. So they watched me feed, water, clean out stalls, and groom boarder’s horses for a year and decided I could handle owning a horse. Horses have been in my life ever since Sugarfoot! Enjoy your weekend, too! Give those wonderful kitties scritches for me! Hope Grammie visits!

  7. Hello dear Pix!
I like to read your answers.
Sounds nice to get a horse for Christmas. I never had a horse, only dogs.
I haven’t seen Gilmore Girls yet.
I agree with you, I would love to have super-hero powers to protect kitties, dogs and others animals to never intentionally will hurt by humans. And protect peoples too!
    Have a nice week.
    Many hugs. ❤

    1. I was beyond excited… without words. I stood there and cried! Oh I know how you feel about the kitties and pups… I wish wishing and hoping could make it happen. For kitties I just keep thinking and saying… Neuter! Can’t tell you how many cats have been dumped here that we have trapped and had nuetered/spayed and the shelter has found homes for them all but one… Tiny Ted didn’t make it.

    1. It truly works! CH had it made for forty years, I did all the onion chopping and then I got tired of wearing my contacts all the time… then I chopped onions one day without them… whoa! Now he has to chop the onions… 😀

  9. I absolutely love your #4! LOVE! For years, my husband has been on onion duty because my eyes get so bad. I don’t wear contacts but I wonder if wearing my glasses would work. I never thought to try that. Your #2 is wonderful. You must have been so happy!

    1. Hello! Thank you so much for the visit! #4… if we could only make it happen. I wear glasses when my contacts are not in and they don’t do the trick, but everyBODY is different… 🙂 I was incredibly happy… horses changed my life. I enjoyed my visit to your blog and enjoyed meeting your two adorable kitties!

  10. Izzy is a beautiful kitty. I love that curled up kitty photo. 🙂

Your answer to #4 is a great one. I think it would be wonderful for all kitties and puppies, and other creatures, too, to be loved, have homes, and never be alone. Nobody should ever have to cross the bridge alone.

    Have a blessed weekend.

  11. You are right, it would be good if all domestic animals had loving homes where they are well cared for. Have a great week.

    1. I wish for that to happen and do what we can by supporting our local shelter. We also take the cats and kittens that people “dump” on our property to the shelter and donate for their spay/neuters. What is the matter with people? Thank you for the visit.

  12. I never watched Gilmore Girls, either. And I thought getting a bicycle was tops! A horse!! I can’t even imagine the delight you felt. Contacts are a must for chopping onions.
