Friendly Fill-ins!

fillins
It’s Friday and that means Friendly Fill-in time. You can find the Fill-ins at McGuffy’s Reader and 15andmeowing. Click on the badge above to link up and/or see other Fill-ins!

Here are my “filled in” Fill-ins!

  1. I wish wooden barns would come back in style.
  2. I always have my “cheaters” and chapstick in my purse (or wallet for men).
  3. I think that I find true peace near water… the ocean, lakes, farm ponds, rivers, streams, fountains, etc.
  4. Someone that answers a text or phone call and proceeds Β to carry on a conversation while I am sitting there right in front of them is a pet peeve of mine. You have me right there to talk to. I am there for you… if it isn’t an emergency tell the other person you will get back to them.

So, that’s it for the Fill-ins this week. Wishing everyBODY a wonderful weekend filled with all the things you love!

  1. “Someone that answers a text or phone call and proceeds to carry on a conversation while I am sitting there right in front of them is a pet peeve of mine.” Oh, mine too, Pix! It’s such an insult. I’ve lost respect for a few people after experiencing this. Why is everyone so obsessed with their phone?
I hope you find peace this weekend! xo

    1. I have no idea what the deal is with phones. I think it bugs me even more when they constantly check their phone to check out FB and emails. Why am I even sitting there? It IS an insult. I am planning on having a peaceful happy weekend and enjoying some comfort food… πŸ˜€

    1. I dream of the ocean in the tub, too! And I am a bath gal, not fond of showers. I have a “smarter than me” phone but we aren’t attached at the hip! Most of the time I don’t remember to stick my phone in my pocket or bag… it stays at home all by itself.

  2. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I know what you mean about people with their phones. I had a friend I rarely aw and she would do that whenever we got together so now I don’t even make an effort to get together with her. Have a nice weekend!

    1. I wouldn’t make an effort to be with anyone that did that to me anymore either. Thank you for the Friendly Fill-ins… they got me back to blogging! Enjoy your weekend, too. I can’t help but wonder about Penny and her box… πŸ˜€

  3. Well dear girl – you knocked it out of the ballpark with your fill-ins today……I identified with ALL your answers. Whenever I’m around ponds, streams, rivers, lakes but most especially the beach, I find that I’m SMILING – non-stop. My face actually hurts by the end of the day from smiling. It’s like a sandy hug for the soul. As for the phone thing – don’t get me started…..I think it’s ridiculous how people have become attached to their phones – how did they survive before cell phones???? Have a super Friday………

    Love, Pam (and the boys)

    1. The ocean soothes the soul… true bliss… “a sandy hug for the soul”… LOVE! Thank you for this visit to Under the Oaks! I am so glad I looked in the spam folder when I went to approve Ron’s comments. I set your comments free… πŸ˜€ And today after finding you in spam and getting you out of there, I am going to have a SUPER Wednesday! HUGS to you!

  4. You are so right about #4, it’s so rude when people answer the phone and ignore you when you are spending time with them. If i’m with someone, or checking out at the store, or busy with an actual person, i either ignore the phone until i’m finished and call back, or quickly tell them i can’t talk now. Unless you are bleeding, the person in front of me is more important!

  5. I am with you on all of those! I couldn’t not live near water, which is just as well being an island and all lol. And the rudeness of the phone thing is beyond understanding! It seems we are not interesting enough in the flesh, we have to be virtual! Not sure what a cheater is, but can guess chapstick!! πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend, Pix xx

  6. I certainly agree on #4 I just hate when people put me on hold right in front of them so they can talk or text. I really lose it if they use that index finger to tell you to “hold on”.

  7. Pix, I would love to sit and talk with you! Your answers really hit home with me, too. Truly! Well, except for the cheaters. I wear bi-focals, now. I used to change glasses, having two pair: “one for seeing and one for reading”. Ha!
I am at home near rivers and lakes…especially The Big Lake. My heart is there. My spirit. “Up near Brockway”.
You rock, my friend. Thank you for being there. Hugs.

    1. Awww Annie, I truly get the water thing. My heart is always happier near water… mostly the ocean. Thank you for your sweet words. My prayers are making their way to Maggie! Thank YOU for being there… πŸ™‚
