DSC_0007 - CopyThe Tiny Ten

Joining Cee for Share Your World. If you would like to see other Share Your World posts or link your own Share Your World just click here. Cee’s questions this week…

Do you prefer shopping or going to a park?
I would prefer going to a park any old day over shopping. I kind of like my own little park… the Tiny Ten. I like to sit under the big Oaks and have a glass of wine, read a book, watch the bluebirds, Suzy Squirrel. Maybe just daydream.

DSC_2614 - CopyIf you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?
I would be this pair of shoes because these shoes have a good life. I just kick them off when I am on the couch and slip them on when I need to do things around the house. They just laze around. When I am not wearing my bunny slippers, these are my “go to” shoes for wearing around the house all year long. I don’t like being barefoot in the house (or anywhere else really) so easy on, easy off shoes are needed. I just slip on socks for winter and feel “oh so pretty” with my plaid boxers, sweatshirt, and my beach towel wrapped around me almost all the time… πŸ˜€ These sandals/shoes so remind me of my sweet eccentric Aunt Margie… her sandals would have been red though. Hello Suds Bunny!

What’s the story behind a time when you got locked out?
I don’t have any interesting stories of being locked out. I have been locked out of cars before and back when it was possible to unlock a car by using a hanger, I have done that. Found it to be a fun challenge. And I have had a policeman come with the fancy unlocking tool once. I can’t ever remember being locked out of the house. I have been locked in before… locked in the high school cafeteria at night after a program. That is a whole other post and I would have to check with my source, my gal pal from way back in grade school and see if that ridiculously funny time with three other gal pals really happened or I just imagined it.

Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?
I prefer foods with no nuts in them or on them. Maybe chopped roasted almonds on a sundae. Pecan encrusted Grouper! I DO prefer without, just a couple of exceptions.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I am grateful for getting both of our vehicles waxed last week. And yes I did help. I love to wax cars. Always have… I find it very relaxing. I am looking forward to spending time with The Mama (CH’s Mom) and CH’s brother’s family this weekend. Laughter and FOOD will be the order for the day! And The Mama is getting new furniture!

Thank you Cee!

      1. this service is very rare in france :o( so I rather shop in UK or at stores where I have a walk in store in my area in case I have to return something… but fortunately mostly I’m with Captain Jack Sparrow: take what you can get and give nothing back :o)

    1. I think 3 to 5 acres is just right! You have some beautiful flowers and I bet they can’t wait to pop up.. πŸ™‚ Even itty bitty 10 acres is too much work! Yes, The Mama is very excited! Good Morning Carol!

  1. The park is definitely better than shopping, but I do enjoy going to busy places sometimes – I get lots of attention!
My bipeds like to slip in and out of shoes easily at home – flip flops in the summer and ones they can wear socks with in the winter.

  2. Yes, yes! Parks! My biggest pet peeve about living in Vero Beach is the lack of actual neighborhood greenspace! Sure we have beach parks…but the newer “off island” part of town was built up (read: sprawled uncontrollably!!) with NO regard for walking…or sitting in a greenspace other than your own! Sorry for the rant, but i really miss my Boston parks!!!
Ps. I’m with you on the shoe choice, too..i have a near identical pair and use them exactly as you do!!

  3. I love that shot of the Tiny Ten! So verdant. It invites one to linger longer.

I love going barefoot . . . but only if its warm enough. If my toes are cold, I don’t like it. In fact, I must don a pair of socks right now!

Have fun with the family this weekend, Pix.

    1. I won’t turn down food offered with nuts and I won’t pick nuts out of anything but I just prefer no big nut pieces or really no nuts at all. Given the choice of chocolate chip cookies with or without nuts.. without. I do like pistachios!

  7. I’m not much for shoes in the house- or socks for that matter. But I don’t go barefoot outside anymore due to a couple of bees I stepped on once in a yard full of clover..and thorns, and fire ants..well, the list of dire dangers just goes on and on! LOL I have a dandy pair of ugly old cr**ks that I will lower my standards and slip on- just to haul the trash to the bin, mind you…NEVER in public.

  8. I love the Tiny Ten! Purrfect for reading, thinking, meditating!! That would be my choice because, of course, shopping can be done online in comfort!! I’m a slippers wearer indoors. Very comfy! lol

  10. Well I must say your shoes DO look comfy…….I’m all for socks and comfy shoes as I have major arthritis in my poor old feet…….not a barefoot gal either. I wear my LLBean fleece lined mocs all day every day. That Tiny Ten of yours is beyond gorgeous – I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to sip on a glass or three of wine on a blanket in that grass with some pillow propping me up – laughing and being silly and listening to the birds……you do have a gorgeous place. Now you say you don’t like shopping but what if you were out and about looking for some new boots???? HMM??? Bet you’d like THAT!!!! LOL

    Love, Pam

    1. Love your fleece lined mocs! The Tiny Ten starts out looking like that in Spring but takes a beating as summer wears it down. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have you here sipping a glass of wine, laughing and being silly! I love shopping for boots but online, free returns! HUGS to YOU!

I love parks, too. Especially those with lakes. I’d 10 times rather be at one than go shopping! Although I do have to say that I like to traipse down the aisles at a flea market once in a while. πŸ™‚
    Have fun this weekend!

Love that pair of shoes, they look very comfortable! I also don’t like being barefoot in the house and in the garden too, I prefer to use flip flop.

Sonia the Tiny Ten starts out looking pretty but summer wears it down pretty quickly. That was a few Springs ago when the rains visited often. We have been in drought for several years. Planning on enjoying family time. BIG hugs back at you Sonia!

  16. I love those sandal/shoes! I need more info on them, please! I’m usually barefoot in summer. Imagining you, locked in a cafeteria. Food again, right? Were you making your own cheeseburger? πŸ˜‰ I’m nuts about nuts–would like them in everything–but not the calories. I like the idea of new furniture. I’d like to sit in that lush green grass up there at the Tiny Ten and just soak in the freshness.

    1. Patti I purchased those sandals/shoes/easy to slide in to whatever they are shoes at Shoe Carnival this past late summer. They are Polo. On the heel of foot bed it says US Polo Ass. Usual little polo guy on horse on outside of shoe. I can’t tell you how much I LOVE them. Comfortable is what they are and no thingie between my big toe and next toe.. yay! I should have bought another pair!!! I got locked in the cafeteria with 3 or 4 other girls. We did scout out the food. Thought we would be locked in all night but we got out.. πŸ˜€ Good Morning!

  17. How interesting to get a peek into someone else’s life Pix – thanks for sharing. Your story about locking reminded me of the time I locked my car by accident with my dog inside! A very sweet policeman showed me just how easy it is to break into a car! I no longer EVER leave anything of value in my car πŸ™‚
