Share Your World~2015 Week 1

IMG_0194 - Copy
Joining Cee for Share Your World today. This picture has nothing to do with this post I just couldn’t do a post without a picture and this was our sunset Sunday at The Tiny Ten. I miss wine time under the Oaks! Here I go….

How do you get rid of pesky phone calls from telemarketers?
We have a landline for internet but no phone hooked up to the landline. No pesky phone calls.

What are you a “natural” at doing?
I think I am a natural at horsing around… I have loved horses since my Grandad plopped me on the back of a sweet old gray mare when I was two years old. I have had 6 horses during my life. I was not the perfect rider but I tried and I loved every minute of the trying. Kate/Kat/Kathy… You out there????

How often do you get a haircut?
Every four weeks.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?
Lunch! Having lunch out with CH. I have always enjoyed lunch with CH from way back when we were first married and he was working. When he had a day off we would head to a place for lunch where the food was great and that was fun. I still think it’s fun now even though he has been retired for seven years. It always seems to be about FOOD! Yesterday was wood-fire grilled salmon, mashed potatoes and broccoli… for our 41st Anniversary!

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful for the kindness and thoughtfulness of blogging friends. I can’t say what I am looking forward to in the week coming up but you will soon find out.. 🙂 I guess I could say that I am still looking forward to LUNCH!

Thank you Cee for hosting SYW!

  1. smart idea to be safe from pesky phonecalls! Seems always the grampys encourage us to ride a horse :o) I sadly got Louise the mean beast who bit me in my shin, but even this hell-horse couldn’t mess up my horse-craziness :o)

  2. First of all, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY………41 years is a nice long time and something to be proud of and happy “in” ! I’m glad for you two……Here’s to tons more “out to lunch” days for you. You know Spring isn’t all THAT far away so the Oaks will be leafing out in a few months and those wonderful “wine under the Oaks” days will be back before you know it. I’m looking out my window at the snow we had this morning thinking “wine by the fireplace” isn’t all that bad either though!

Hugs and thanks for the smile………
    Pam

  3. Happy 41st Anniversary!!! Boy, is that CH a lucky man!! Aren’t the sunrises and sunsets this time of year magnificent? And I am so with you about lunch. It makes me happy too and yesterday’s lunch sounds slightly better than my ham and cheese sandwich with pretzel thins.

    1. It was a pretty sunset! You had wine time last night?!!! Good for you! I hope you get this because I have to tell you I am sorry if I woke you up at 3 AM this morning. I couldn’t sleep and was browsing through Instagram and commented to you. I thought, holy smokes ~d probably has her phone close to her and on and I hope notification of my comment didn’t wake her up!

  7. congrats on 41 years – and if food is not about fun, then something is very wrong with the world. i am so with you on that!

and i am soooo due for a haircut. my hairdresser’s availability and mine only seems to match up on Tuesday afternoons, and the last few weeks Tuesdays i have been busy otherwise, so i have bangs that are almost as long as my nose. thank goodness for pins.

one of my co-workers who was off for about a month actually asked me if i was planning to grow out my hair, lol. but no, that is not in the plans. hopefully it will happen before the end of this month.

and to say that i am not curious about what’s ahead for you would be an absolute lie. looking forward to hearing your story on that in due course.

and a beautiful click…. thanks for sharing. Timmy sends purrs 🙂

    1. Thanks on the 41 years Cheryl! There are lots of us that really love our FOOD! As a kid and teenager I never cared about food and stayed skinny. Now I am always fighting the calories. It’s blustery and beyond cold this morning!!!

  8. Gorgeous sunset. – Very fun post. I think up different ways to discourage those pesky telemarketers. One favorite thing was making up a story about my being an “alien” from the planet Pluto. They never called back!

  10. Huge congrats on 41 year anniversary! :)))

I was totally horse mad as a child! I might have said this before (mind like a sieve!) Sadly we couldn’t afford riding lessons, let alone a pony, but I used to dream and read all the horsy books there were!! Aaahhh!! Then when I was old enough and earning, I had to pay for driving lessons instead!! Such is life …. and anyway we lived in the suburbs lol

    1. I don’t think I was aware that you were horse crazy! I was in the burbs sometimes too, I had to board, luckily I worked at one of the barns. I still have horse barns that board near us and they let me come and play.. 🙂
