Rubbish Tuesday #16

DSC_2423 - CopyI didn’t have to go too far for today’s Rubbish Tuesday. I walked a few steps to… wait for it, if you haven’t already guessed… I walked out to CH’s workshop. I’m thinking this is at least in some sort of order, which I am sure CH would tell you. He likes it out here. It’s the only place I don’t tell him to pick up, straighten up, throw that junk away. It is his junk, all his. I don’t tell him what to do with it and I don’t go in there unless I need to drive one of our vehicles or grab one of the cutesie yard ornament things.. which it looks like the little yard things never made it out of the workshop this summer. I think we have been too busy with day trips.

DSC_2421 - CopySo Roan I might be wrong but I think this kind of qualifies as interesting junk. I find it interesting. Some stuff… I am totally clueless as to what it is.. what it’s for.. Β BUT this “rubbish” is CH’s treasure. It’s his rubbish and that kind of makes it our rubbish by marriage and I do find some of it interesting and I must say I have enjoyed scouting out some of the “stuff” in the pictures. I love the little turtle on the second shelf… he seems a bit overwhelmed by all the “stuff” that surrounds him. Maybe I should grab his little turtle self and give him a happy place in one of the flowers beds. It’s pretty dusty in there and it cracks me up that CH took the time to clean those farm boots up… they actually shine. Guess he wanted “them boots” to be all clean for the next trip down to clean up all the growth around the lagoon!

  1. HA! Well I know all about those workshops – David has one in the garage AND one in the basement……he is, however, a compulsive neat freak when he’s in “his” space – too bad when he’s in the house he’s a slob. Anyway, I see some cute stuff on the shelves too – saw Mr. Turtle but the cat below him is cute too! David (and CH) would say “one man’s rubbish is another man’s workshop”……. πŸ˜‰

  2. Hey! We’ve got an interesting place that looks a lot like that at our place – i call it the man cave. I’m sure what I see as junk Bob has a different name for.

  3. Well done! JD has a similar workshop out back. I don’t know what half the stuff is or used for, but he does and can even find it among all the chaos. Cute turtle! Thanks for joining in!

  4. Goodness this looks so familiar. Rick’s side of the garage looks pretty similar. The wet vac/vacuum hose, the craftsman saw, the hammer handle hanging over the edge of the table, caulking tubes and pets. Cute turtle and do I see a ceramic kitty peering from below? Would that be boxes of top flite golf balls?

    1. Yes to the golf balls. And yes! That is a kitty birdhouse! None of that stuff made it outside this summer. I swear I do not know where the time went, where summer went. Kids around here started school today! I have to check on the hammer handle hanging over the edge of the table.. πŸ˜€ I bet Rick can find what he needs when he needs it with no problem!

    1. Hi Cecilia! That is unbelievable about all your rain. I didn’t know you had storms like that in NC in August. We had rain this morning and it is supposed to get very hot here till next Monday. Hope Madi isn’t afraid of thunder!

  7. This just cracked me up! πŸ™‚ Maybe I should submit a photo of our carport. πŸ™‚ I WISH my hubby had a workshop there instead of having just a carport, but it’s impossible to have something like that outside of the house because of the heat. He would never go out there. Instead he has an office…one can walk into it VERY carefully! He keeps saying he’s going to get it organized. I think he’s kind’ve overwhelmed about the whole thing. It’s easier to shut the door! πŸ™‚

    1. It doesn’t have to be rubbish Isobel it can just be interesting junk or stuff, vintage items or buildings for the meme. It is a plump little hummingbird on the top shelf! Usually goes in one of the flower beds but I didn’t get that stuff out this summer.

  8. Your husband workshop is very organized and colorful! I can see that there are a lot of “treasures” there!
I wish my husband “rubbish” was this organized and don’t be so overwhelmed by many β€œstuff”. Lol!
Hope you both have a good week ahead! πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Sonia! I am late answering comments, we got busy today! I agree about his treasures and stuff being colorful! Men love their workshop stuff and believe there was an area I missed that was a mess. I couldn’t get it all in! Enjoy the rest of your week, it is going to HOT here! Hugs!

  9. My hubby has his stuff scattered all around in the back park of the garage. It’s a mess and he can’t ever find anything. I don’t touch anything so he has only himself to blame! lol! Good job on the boots…they look brand new!
I better get going and hit Publish before the phone rings again. I’ve been here a long time trying to get a comment written! Have a good week, Pix!

    1. CH is not good at throwing away. I manage to get rid of the inside the house stuff when he isn’t around but out in the workshop is all his! Good for BFF. I couldn’t believe your garage when we were there! Pristine!!!

      1. That’s because I see it every time we go anywhere. In NC, NJ, and MD, his workspace was out of my line of sight and he had more “latitude” before he had to be concerned about my “attitude.” 😎

  10. That actually looks pretty good compared to “some” guys’ areas that I’ve seen….and I won’t be calling any names… or dropping any hints! Love that little turtle – if you give him a flowerbed home, please take a picture and share with us!

    1. You know they looked shiny but I think it was the sun hitting them when I clicked the camera. They were full of dust like everything else out there! He did clean up his gum boots from all the mud this Winter and Spring.

  11. I’m not really allowed to go where that sort of stuff is stored. They think I’ll put my nose where it shouldn’t be! That pile of wood looks tempting, I’d probably pull some of that out and arrange it on the grass if I got the chance.

    1. I certainly understand your bipeds not wanting you to go in a mess of a workshop! I don’t know how safe it would be in there for you but I know you would be on a leash. I would get a good laugh out of you arranging wood on the grass.. πŸ™‚ Heading for your Wednesday post!

  12. My dad had a shed filled with garden tools, a workbench, vise and grinder where he sharpened Mom’s kitchen knives. I never thought twice about it when hubby wanted a house with a shed, it just seemed natural for guys to have that space. Several of our cats (or maybe it was one who went there every season) chose to have their kittens in the 55-gallon drum that held an assortment of hoes, rakes, and other garden tools in Dad’s shed. I guess they felt safe in there.

    1. Patti that is one of the stranger places that I have heard of a cat having kittens. Couldn’t have been too comfortable but I am thinking it was safe. This is CH’s first real workshop and he is making the most of it! My Dad had a work bench area in our basement and CH’s Dad’s junk space was on the dock. I think you are right, it’s just a natural thing.. πŸ˜€
