Good Fences #20

I wanted a gate to lead out to our west field so I casually mentioned to CH that “we” need to build a little gate to lead our view out to the west field which is my second favorite place on our Tiny Ten acres. I told him it would showcase his prized “hibiscuits” too. One day I left to run some errands and I came back to the two panels almost finished. All “we” needed to do was sink it in the ground. I went in the house and probably played on the computer and before I knew it “we” had the gate all up! It was magic how it just appeared!

So “our” little gate that “we” built is making an appearance for Tex’s Good Fences this good Thursday!

  2. Gosh but you do have a great gate-builder in your house! And it was a joint project – after all, it was YOUR suggestion, CH just provided the muscles! I love the hibiscuits – my Dad called them that too so it made me smile to see that……the view out the new gate is spectacular – much like ALL the views I’ve seen of your beautiful Tiny Ten!

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Thanks Jill! It is a great walking place. I told CH when we first moved here 9 years ago that “we” needed to cut a path in the west field to do “my” healthy heart laps. A path appeared.. πŸ˜‰

    1. Well it was naturally all by itself a very lovely piece of property and CH has worked very hard on it. It’s like a park and it is very happy this year with the rain we have been getting after years of drought! Thanks for your visit!

    1. Good Morning Anni! Our favorite too and they just came out of nowhere a year after we moved here. I think CH thought they were a weed and they were stuck under the shade of some burning bushes. After a relocation they were very happy!

  4. All the photos I’ve seen of your Tiny Ten have been amazing! The gate is wonderful with the hibiscuits lol. My father painted a picture once with a gate leading into green pastures just like that!

    1. Hi Caro! Do you still have the painting?? Would be lovely to see. I have to say that I really am at peace on The Tiny Ten and CH has done some beautiful things with it. It was the home of a school years ago and we have an area full of the rocks from the foundation of the school and it is full of wild flowers… we call that bed “schoolhouse rock”. I am at peace when the neighbors are behaving themselves.. Ha! When we were thinking about moving, I was heartbroken. “WE” did a great job on the gate!

We got a little over 4 inches of rain last night! Yay!! Hope your Tiny Ten got a good soaking, too.

    1. Hello Cheryl! He did want to surprise me. The gate has been up a couple of years now. We did get a good soaking… a bit over two inches, not as good as your bit of country but we will take it. Things were looking really dry. And “Yay” is right!

    1. Charlie so true! I found you in my spam this morning.. that is just so wrong! WordPress didn’t get it right but I am thankful for all the spam it does catch. Thank you so much for your visit! I enjoyed my visit to your blog and I am sure my husband would enjoy your garden posts. It’s early in the morning so my brain is befuddled yet.. but how do I follow your blog? I couldn’t find a “follow” thingie. For now I have marked it to favorites!

  7. How sweet! I think your new gate-way looks great. I’ve been wanting a single panel to use as a backdrop for seasonal decorations. For over a year…I’ll look again at daylight…but as of yesterday it still wasn’t out there. Bwaha! I guess he wasn’t listening (the umpteen times I have talked about it)!
