Good Fences!

photo (3)
A lovely botanical garden is surrounded by this country wood fence that had been drenched with good rain early morning Sunday. This is just a tiny glimpse of the yard that CH’s brother and his wife make beautiful with a Spring and Summer riot of colorful happy faced flowers. I love to visit them.. well they ARE family but they have the same sense of funny we have and I feel peace there. Just like I am home. The Mama, CH’s Mom, was there too. Brother and Wife are new Grandparents to a sweet boy that is close to 15 months old and we all love him to bits. He and his parents were a big part of the conversation on Sunday… 😀 We missed them!

There was FOOD too.. and wine! CH’s Brother does BBQ that is gourmet and Sunday was pork steaks.. Oh MY! Pork steaks, baked potatoes, salad with Sis-in-law’s balsamic vinaigrette, and sweet corn with buttah. Oh, and CH’s coconut cream pie. My sis-in-law and I are so smart, we married men who can cook!

I am joining Tex for Good Fences today after a long blog break!

Hahaahah I agree and yes you had me from the git go ….well…we had the dude with the tractor in to do the post holes for the back part which is right and I mean right on a rock ridge..sparks were flyin and the stuff being churned up looked like cement…ahhhh you would have loved it ..then it promptly rained..so the holes are full of water..so two sides to the house are done and just 42 meters of back fence to go…grab your boots bring some pie and head down 😉

    1. Thank you! I break all the rules of photography, especially for composition. Rule of thirds and nothing in the foreground that distracts.. I just click what I like. I am not a photographer either.. 🙂 We have had so much rain this year that everything is green and happy!

You had my attention once you said “pork steak”, but my biped is drooling about coconut cream pie.

    1. I have to say Clowie that the coconut cream pie was most excellent.. 🙂 I can see where your ears would perk up at “pork steak”! The two pups at the house were pretty interested too.. 🙂

      1. The Tiny Ten is sometimes tranquil but lately since everyone is cutting hay it is crazy loud.. 😀 But we are so happy the farmers are getting a cutting of hay… hoping they get a second cutting in Fall. I do love it here, I love the land, trees, and the birds. I can hardly wait for the kids around here to go back to school next month.. peace, quiet, and tranquility till 3:10pm.. Ha!

  5. I wish I’d known to look for a fella who cooks, but this one has a lot of other wonderful attributes, so I’m keeping him. 😉 I love those red coleus (mostly any coleus) they do perk up a flower bed. That is a nice fence. Your meal sounds delicious, especially that pie! Mmmm. It’s nice to have family who feels like home.

    1. Patti I LOVE coleus and can you believe we don’t have any? I need to change that situation! It was just a lovely day with family. We were missing the ones that couldn’t be there but we are all spread out like most families.. they missed a great meal.. 😀 A niece and her family in England, a nephew and his wife in Nevada, and a nephew and his family in St. Louis.

  6. Thanks for sharing our yard and I love and appreciate your comments. Rules are made to be broken, especially photography rules. I like a little something in the foreground, especially in outdoor photography. I just love the extra dimension it brings to a photo. It was an exquisite day and one of those to be savored.

    1. Thank you so much for thinking about Under the Oaks. I haven’t done awards for a long time because I just get so befuddled by them and I am not good about keeping the rules to pass them on. But you thinking about Under the Oaks was/is very kind.

Glad you’re back posting, I nearly missed this one as I’m so behind on commenting lately. Hope you are having a good summer!
