  1. First daffodils?? Lucky girl! Any potential buds here are still buried under a blanket of white 😦 Hmm, do I recognize that little hooked piece?

    1. Yes you do recognize that hooked piece! Your hooked autumn leaves have a permanent place on our coffee table. Sorry about your blanket of white Kim. Spring is coming! If it can make it here, it can make it to your house!!!

    1. Thanks on the header Nancy! All those Oaks, the flower beds, the white peonies, the birdhouse.. the reason our decision is so difficult. It does not look like this here yet, it will be May/June. Yes those daffodils do scream HAPPY! And I am screaming HAPPY this morning, it is pouring here and we need the rain desperately!

  3. Oh boy mom loves daffy dills or butter cups. Yours look very healthy. Years ago, BM (before Madi) mom planted about a 100 all around the edge of the natural area in the front yard. She was so excited come spring. About 10 came up and NONE of them were near each other. It was P I T I F U L!!

    1. I know it’s been a tough winter there in Maine Julie. You not feeling well hasn’t helped. I hope you see Spring very soon and you and Travis can play in the sunshine with your flock and in the gardens! Right now we are getting a ton of rain and severe weather. I will take the rain because we are in drought and need the moisture but the crazeeee severe weather I can do without!!

          1. We had a bit of hail last night and it is raining now. The storm could go around us—-I am hoping. Last year we got 8 inches May 3……so I guess we could still have a way to go.

    1. Hi Chris. My new theme is like photojourneying. I will have to click over. I tried Syntax theme and the font was TOO big. And so were the pictures and there was no way to get back to HOME or to the top of the blog. Everything was driving me crazy about it and so I found this one and it feels like home.. πŸ™‚

Happy Spring to you! I am going to click over to both your blogs. I can’t sleep.. stormy.

I need to stay on top of your porch decorating!!!

  6. Just catching up a little. I too have daffs in my vases. Our garden seems to have turned into a blossomed and verdant oasis almost overnight.
Looking at your good reads, I loved Penelope Lively’s The Photograph. I want to read the one she published last year about ageing.

    1. Afternoon Isobel! Our gardens haven’t blossomed yet but they have to be thinking about it after almost 5 inches of rain on Thursday. All we have blooming right now is daffs but other plants like peonies, lilies, columbine and our Bradford Pear trees are beginning to show signs of waking up. You suggested I read The Photograph and it truly was a good, great read! Do you have a Goodreads account Isobel?

      1. Hi
Our morning blue skies have turned grey, but I may try to get some pix later today or tomorrow. The neighbour’s lilac tree is on the point of flowering, the roads are lined with flowering cherries, and this morning for the first time this year I saw a daytime fox strolling very confidently across our garden. I took some photos with my little Olympus, but I don’t imagine they will be very clear.
No, I don’t have a good reads account.
