Random Five Friday

photo (1) - Copy copyI like Wine Time at 4pm. I like Missouri Catawba in a Tervis Tumbler. With a couple of ice cubes. I asked my cardiologist as he was exiting my room at the hospital 9 years ago if I could still drink wine and he said, “sure, just not a tumbler full”… 🙄 I am allowed 5 ounces.

I labeled the picture in this post “Wine Time in a Tervis Tumbler” on Instagram and had a fun exchange with a blogging friend. Thank you friend! I like Instagram because you laugh lots there.

Wine Time on The Porch is always in the company of Kermie the Frog.

Finally found the perfect comfy pair of levi jeans after years of looking. They remind me of the boys levis I wore in high school. Except now they have a bit of stretch to allow for tummy expansion.

Another winter storm with ice and snow is bearing down on us. I have had it. I know compared to many of you we have had it easy and we need the moisture because of drought conditions but Winter needs to pack its bags and go. Freezing rain gives me a cranky and scares the heck out of me. It may be us that packs and goes.

Joining Nancy for Random Five Friday!

  1. Pix how come “The Arch” isn’t on your Random list??? I know how ATTACHED you are to the danged thing! Loving your list though – especially Kermie AND hearing you found some Levis that are just right (it gets harder as time goes on….I have the same issue!). Sending a random hug……..

  3. It’s a great idea to have a glass of wine together with Kermie ( hope he will not drink the whole tumbler alone). High Paws for the perfect levi, I’m still searchin for “my” old levi I had as I was a teen. Sadly I never found this color again :o(

  6. Good ones!
what levis are they? I’m still on the hunt for the perfect jeans. I have no hips..seriously you could draw a straight line between my waist and my thighs, so buying pants has been a tremendous challenge my entire life, even when I was a much thinner young person! They never fit right!

    1. They are MidRise Skinny Levis but don’t let the “skinny” make you think of tight legging kinda jeans. They aren’t like skinny jeans at all but they work for my flat butt. I am a straight line kinda gal too! Check them out at the Levi site! Mid Rise Skinny, Studio Blue. I would have liked a lighter color.. 🙂

  8. If this winter doesn’t take a hike soon, I’m gonna be chugging wine! Haha! (Not really, but it’s a thought.) Why does it seem like such a long winter? Because time flies and tomorrow is March already. Before you know it, I’ll be griping about the heat! 🙂 Have a good weekend, Pix!

    1. Isobel, the sale number? I buy them off of Levi.com They are called Mid Rise Skinny Jeans in Studio Blue. I also really like their 525 Perfect Waist Straight Jean in Sky color. Everybody is missing their 501s and I am missing the 505s.. they messed with them and they aren’t the same. You have started new stories. I am going to read them when our bad weather hits Sunday.. I will have a good book to read.. 🙂

      1. I don’t have the body for skinny jeans, so back to the drawing board. Thanks for saying you’ll catch up on the stories on Sunday. I am enjoying writing them again and catching up with Hera, Hades et al. I hope to write another bit tonight when I am home from work.

        1. Ahh but Isobel they are nothing close to Skinny jeans. I don’t care for Skinny jeans. I happened to read in the reviews from a lady my age to give them a try because there was nothing skinny about them. Even the leg openings are just like a pair of old straight leg jeans! I may start reading this afternoon if we don’t have to get last minute stuff from the grocery store before the storm. Glad you are enjoying writing about the gods again, It was fun when you started!

    1. I hope that you are getting rid of winter. We are getting dire reports about what is coming. I think I am going to slap my hands over my ears in denial and drink wine! It can’t stay wintry forever! Right? 😯 Kermie may have had a few sips.. 😉 Austin will be home from the MOON soon!

  11. I’m glad to see Kermie is in good hands. Your pansies are so colorful in your header. We have snow in our forecast for Monday, 60s on Sunday, though. I can pretend it is spring for a day.

  13. Wine with Kermie now that’s interesting. I’ve been reading the comments as I wondered where you got Kermit but now I know. So happy you rescued him from that parking lot. So sorry about the weather, it snowed here last night too. Not much but even a small amount now is getting redundant.

    1. Good Morning Christina! Trying to stay warm and safe. The roads are all ice covered so we won’t be going anywhere. So over Winter. Hope all is well with you. I probably should stick with my allowed 5 ounces.. 🙂

      1. Same here Pix. I prefer to stick around the house with a glass of wine myself. I look forward to sitting on the patio with a glass instead of being stuck in the house.
