Random Five Friday

Venice 09 002 - Copy My heart feels happiness and peace like no other time when I stand on this beach.

The older I get, the flatter my butt gets.

Hummus scooped up with a Ruffles potato chip is gourmet.
Avocado slices on whole wheat bread with salt, pepper and olive oil-ditto.

I love Poohism quotes. This is one of my favorites and is on the fridge~
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
‘Pooh!’ he whispered.
‘Yes, Piglet?’
‘Nothing,’ said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw.
‘I just wanted to be sure of you.'” ~ Winnie the Pooh

It really IS the little things. While we were on vacation I had to do a load of laundry and the hotel gives you little single load Ultra Tide Original powder boxes. I went out and bought myself some powder Ultra Tide. The scent of fresh laundered towels can make my day.

Joining Nancy at A Rural Journal and thanking her so much for Random Five Friday where we share five facts about our life, our thoughts, whatever!

  1. Good morning . . . again! Thanks for that mesmerizing murmuration!

I enjoyed your Random Five. I’m so with you on the beach, and warm laundry, and Pooh (not Poo).

    Here’s my favorite Poohism:

    Pooh: What day is it?
    Piglet: Today.
Pooh: Oh, good. Today is always my favorite day.

  2. I LOVE this post. Love, love, love. The Pooh quote made my day, the beach shot just says “Ahhhhh…..” and your sense of humor and place kicked off my morning Just Right. Think I’ll go do some laundry……………Thanks!

    1. Hi Debi! Pooh is a very wise and thoughtful thinking bear.. 🙂 I have laundry to do today, I can hardly wait to scoop out that powder. I have the day to myself too, CH is on the road to his Mama”s! Do you ever hear from Eve?

        1. She called or texted around Christmas. I hadn’t heard from her in quite awhile. It was nice to connect. Julie said I should check out her FB but I am not good at asking peeps to friend me and my FB is goofy, full of cats and horses and just my published WP posts. And yes I think we are all ready for Spring, it is the Summer part I am not crazy about.. 🙂

  3. Now my mom has some hope to get a flat butt in some years :o) I agree with you, the scent of fresh laundered towels is fabulous. Maybe that’s the reason why Easy loves all our towels to pieces :o)

  4. Love the beach shot!!! It’s been entirely too long since I’ve been to a beach 😦 I love Pooism too and that is also one of my favs. Take care and have a great weekend. Enjoy the sunshine while we have it ♥

  5. Gosh – I haven’t looked at mine in so long, I’m not sure – I’m old though, so maybe it qualifies. Pooh is a great philosopher. You’ve made me want to go gourmet – if only I didn’t have to make the hummus.

    1. We had homemade hummus at the house of a blogger friend when we were in Florida-dee. It was delicious. She left out the tahini and just used a little lime juice, olive oil, garlic and salt. She used canned garbanzos.. 🙂 Do you HAVE to make the hummus? Barb I am coming to visit you.. 🙂 I am old too.. 62.. bah. I don’t spend much time looking at my butt in the mirror, Just noticed it in the picture and I been spending lots of time flat on the couch during this winter.

  6. I now know what “CH” stands for! LOL Love your beach photo. Flat–that describes me, too. My middle is beginning to look like the Pillsbury Doughboy–maybe I should be rolling on the treadmill? I have an avocado in the fridge, and now I know what I’m having for lunch tomorrow, thanks! I like Poohisms, too. I have to use Tide Free for hubby. I may have to buy a box of the powder to use as air freshener in the laundry room! Have a great weekend!

    1. Good Morning Patti! Be sure and bring that avocado up to room temp for maximum creaminess and deliciousness! I was using All liquid unscented/free for me but I couldn’t take not having that scented wonderfulness out of the dryer and in my shirts. SO, we shall see how washing with scented Tide goes. I am just going to enjoy it while I can.

  7. I almost published that Pooh quote yesterday (20th) it is one of my favorites and when Cole (the teen) was little we use to play a family game where I would say “Cole” and he would answer “what” and I would say “Just Cole.”

  8. Am NOT getting notices that you’ve posted new blogs! Dang! A pox on WordPress!! Glad I decided to visit the Reader and see everything I’ve missed – your butt being one thing. HAHA Funny how we lose some of the fat in our bodies as we age from spots we’d rather NOT lose it like THERE. Now some of the other fat I have – “send it to the moon” if I could!!!!

Sorry I’ve been absent…….I may have to stay with the Reader so I don’t miss your bloggies!
    Hugs, Pam (and Sam)

    1. Hey Pam! I was having trouble with no email notice on three blogs last Fall and Isobel completely fell off my following list a few months ago. I hit the follow button again at Isobel’s but on the other three I had to unfollow and follow them again and they started showing up in my inbox. One I had to import to my Feedly Reader. No worries, I just figured you were busy shooting for the moon.. 🙂

    1. I saw that your Peeps went to the coast Madi! I saw what they wrote in the sand! And I like the visit to the ocean when it isn’t summer and it is less populated with people. Hugs back at you Madi and to your Mom!

  11. Oh gosh…. how well I know about the ‘flat butt’ thing. I remember the first time I noticed my flatter butt in a photo and was all like… Ahhhhhh,,,,, what happened, where did my cute butt go??
Oh, and I feel the same way about the ocean, but I rarely get there to see it and feel that way. Darn.

    1. I don’t think I ever had a cute butt so I haven’t spent a minute wondering where it went. I do spend lots of time lately wondering where my glasses went when I don’t have my contacts on! You need to get yourself to an ocean!!!
