It’s Raining on the Tiny Ten!!!

DSC_1656 - Copy
After over a month of no rain and every little thing starting to get crispy and the burning bushes dropping leaves, the oak leaves burning, classified as abnormally dry after last years drought and heading that route again… rain is falling on our little bit of country! We are all giddy. We can hear the oaks sighing with relief. My cranky is lifting.

Love hearing the rain hitting the roof of the front porch. Who knew how happy I could get over rain? Ah.

And we have a visitor! Sammy could this be one of Freddie’s buds?

  5. I love rain. It’s been raining most of the summer this year, and I still like it. I should move to Seattle or London, probably.

    1. I love rain too Janice. It just suits my mood. It was beautiful to watch today. AND hear! I don’t know if I could do Seattle but London calls to me especially with Isobel’s posts. Nice to see you at Isobel’s. I am pretty sure we will never leave Missouri.

  7. Good Morning, Pix! Aren’t you loving this cooler weather? I can’t believe how cool it was when I first got up around 6:30. I almost needed a jacket on to sit outside! Love your shots of the rain falling on your sitting area under the oaks. It looks like a beautiful place to relax! We had some much needed rain here, too, and a chance for more tomorrow! Yay!! I’m kinda hoping for rain tomorrow, I have a book I want to read and I love reading on rainy days. Enjoy your day!

  8. It’s been a rainy summer, here in Georgia,(and perhaps too much rain). Last night I heard on the news that the watermelon farmers are losing a lot of their crops. One farmer said, “with a drought we can water, but with too much rain, there is nowhere for it to go except on the ground.”

    1. I guess I will go for rain. We are losing too many of our Oaks. The farmers here desperately need rain for the corn and soybeans and need a second cutting of hay. Our ponds are drying up again this year. Thank you for the visit to Under the Oaks!

    1. Hi Christina! All is well but we need rain again and I don’t see it for the next ten days! I haven’t been doing much on the blog or Facebook. I am just pooped out with talking I guess.. πŸ™‚ We have been busy and trying to decide whether to move or not. Hope all is well with you. Blogging isn’t the same without the old group. I think everybody has gone to Facebook. I think of you often!

    1. Hi Chris! Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so torn about blogging, have been from day one when I started several years ago. I am beginning to come out of my summer funk and feel so much better. Summer wears me out. Don’t know what will become of this blog, but I so appreciate your comment.

      1. Hey Pix, good to hear from you. Thanks for visiting my blog and the comment left there. Will respond there later but wanted to get back to you right away. Blogging is not meant to be pressure. You certainly have a gift with an eye to see unique beauty, and your editing using different textures and more adds that extra brilliant touch that your readers enjoy so much.

However at the same time, it should not be something that is an effort or a chore you feel obligated to do. So be good to yourself. Know that you are missed, but even that is not intended to push you into publishing something that you just are not up to, but just a word of encouragement that what you have done so far has not been for nothing. You have made a difference. And right now you need time to breathe in. It happens. Good for you for being honest with yourself.

        Timmy sends you purrs.

  12. Aww thank you! I am trying to work towards that. It would be nice if Autumn would get here and do its job on the leaves. After 90 degrees on Friday we got a cold front yesterday with much needed rain and cold temps. The Oaks may start putting on their Autumn dress! You inspired me to change my theme and that has inspired me to pick up a camera later today.. πŸ™‚
