Tuesday Muse! I’m So Excited!!

DSC_0901 - Copy copy
Nancy from A Rural Journal has started a new photo meme and it is all about textures! I have been reading Nancy’s blog for a long time and when she started sharing her textures I made sure to grab them when she offered. I love Nancy’s sense of funny and now she has made me all texture happy with this new meme and offering her textures in a newsletter. Click over to Nancy’s blog, A Rural Journal for her beautiful pictures, texture work and her wonderful sense of humor. She has an interesting serious side too. Thank you Nancy for Tuesday Muse!

Texture used is Organic Paper 1 from Nancy’s collection.

The kitty is Izzy. She spent a bit of time with us two summers ago before she went to the home that she was meant to be happy in.

    1. Thanks Beth Ann! I am going to snap a picture of my one and only teapot and lay a texture on it for a post! You have me all interested in tea.. πŸ™‚ Izzy was an interesting kitty, she was a maniac and she didn’t like me at all.. πŸ™‚ She used to attack my legs at night when I was on the couch and bite them AND it wasn’t play!

  1. Well, I don’t know that I can break away from Barn Charm on Tuesdays…..however, earlier today, I DID see that another blogger had incorporated both memes. So there’s a possibility! Aw…sweet Izzy looks very much like my sweet Sundae…. who’s slowly, but surely, becoming a lap kitty. And is perched on my lap as I type…!

    1. I am so happy for you Dianna! I knew Sundae would figure out that laps are the bestest. Yes you link back to as many different memes as you want. I am hoping to get my barn pictures stocked again and do both Tuesday Muse and Barn Charm when I have a barn!

  3. Aww, I’m so happy to see another pic of Izzy. She is a cute little thing…when she’s asleep. Right? πŸ™‚ I have about 3 too many here. Some days I just wish it were only Stormy. The Peanut is a cutie, but think Kramer of Seinfeld and if he were embodied in a little kitty…well, there you have it! Ha!

I will be checking out the textures at Nancy’s. I love playing around with the photos when I have time. So much I want to do…so little time.

Have a good one! The snow is gradually melting…yay!

    1. Exactly! When she was asleep she was an angel.. πŸ˜€ Funny about The Peanut having Kramer’s quirky personality!! I know just what you mean with so little time. And yes the snow is slowly leaving. Take care Cheryl!!

      1. Hey would you be a dear and explain to me about the textures? I went to her blog, but I still don’t understand. I understand your textures in the photo but I don’t understand the actual getting the texture things from her blog.
I hope you don’t mind my asking. πŸ™‚

        1. E. C. she is going to offer her textures thru the newsletter that you can sign up for. For now you can take the texture I used that she has on her blog, Organic Paper by just right clicking on the texture and copying and then pasting to a photo folder or where you store your photos or where you would grab a picture or texture to work with. If I am not clear on this just ask me more. I am not a super duper texture person E.C., there are lots of peeps out there that know more about this but I will do what I can to help. And maybe someone else will jump in with a better way.. πŸ™‚ I think she will offer the textures later in the newsletter thru a download, maybe a zip file or a simple download.

    1. She was Pam, she was! You are so right!! So I finished your book, The Mystery of David’s Bridge. I kept saving the last 8 or so pages because I didn’t want it to be over. I really enjoyed it Pam. I will email you later.

  5. Hey Pix, first let me say how much I like those red boots of your’s, do you sleep in those puppies, they look mighty comfy!! Speaking of comfy, Izzy the country kitty appears quite comfy too! Snow for us here in Maine tomorrow and Thursday, I ask you where is Spring? Greetings to you and Mr. CH, Julie.

    1. I don’t know where Spring is Julie, but I am really tired of looking at snow and we haven’t had any where near as much as you! I don’t sleep in them boots but I do love them, they are very comfy.. πŸ™‚ You know it looks like Eve has found Spring!

  6. I truly β™₯ Izzy.. she looks quite content and cozy in light of this burst of winter (ugh! we grow weary!). The texture is way cool.. I shall have to investigate this! I love your dark and mysterious new background too. Very nice touch! Stay warm.. better temps are coming soon and I am so happy about that πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Tammy! My background just changed by itself! It is the default for my theme and surprise there it was! Izzy, I wish all would have worked out with her. It’s going to be warmer today, maybe we can get rid of the snow. We still had flurries yesterday afternoon!

  7. I’m sorry for having to post this new comment. I couldn’t find a reply button to your comment. I’m guessing you have the reply limit set to 3 for the comments.

Is the textures the colors and items in her graphic? Do you take the graphic and try to match the colors and textures of the items in it? Is that what the texture is?

I’m sorry to be such a bother.

  8. Aw, Izzy is a cutie. A few years ago we had our hearts set on a calico names Isabella, but it was not to be. She was officially up for adoption, and in a foster home. but we fell in love with her photo and her story online. A two-year old, she was no longer wanted in a home and definitely needed a new one. So we tried to contact her foster parent a few times who then finally left us a message that it was a heart-breaking thought to give her up, and that the home she was in was no longer a foster home, but she was officially being adopted. Which was good for beautiful Isabella, as she now had a permanent home, and I think animals can tell if they are in transition or keepers.

But it did leave a cat-sized gap for us. Which turned out to be a good thing with Timmy now in our family. He apparently does not do well with other cats, so all is well.

Anyhow, this is not about Timmy, but about cute Izzy and your unique textures. not being very technical, i like how textures look but don’t know how to create them. maybe it is something to look into! thanks for sharing.

  9. Hi Chris
Thanks for dropping by. The pic came from the internet when I looked for men and cats. Not sure exactly where but I placed the word ‘source’ under it to show I did not take it. Gorgeous photo of your temporary cat. Lovely.
