Happy Sunflower Face Meets Busy Kitty!

izzy

A big thank you to Kim Klassen at her “cafe”! She has a wonderful site and is more than willing to teach you everything she knows about textures. A thank you to Andrea at Rural Revival for the link to Kim’s site a long time ago. Yes. I am a procrastinator. Also another thank you to Eve at Sunny Side Up for helping me get this picture up. As soon as I can figure out how to do links here at WordPress without screwing up this whole post I will link back to Kim Klassen and Andrea and Eve. Duh.

Anywho, I played with textures yesterday and this is my first picture with two of the things that make my heart happy. A Busy Kitty and happy flower faces.

Stay cool people!

    1. Good Evening Katie! I know, you are partial to those Calicos! CH did grow that sunflower in the burned off pasture along with about three hundred others. They didn’t all bloom but they made an appearance 🙂 We are trying to stay cool but it is gettting tough and it is getting old. Not to gripe or whine or get a cranky on or anything!

  1. I’ll be looking forward to seeing more of your new texture talent. Izzy and the texture make for a very pretty picture. She is adorable.

    1. Deb! Hello! I don’t know how much texture stuff I will do. I really like pictures straight out of the camera with just a tiny bit of tweaking. But who knows I may catch the bug. I need to learn so much more! Izzy is a trooper, she has been having a little health thing and she is a brave plucky little girl!

  2. Very well done!!! I really need to learn how to do all of these cool things. Maybe when summer is over and things slow down a bit around here 🙂

    1. Carol this summer has been so crazy I am surprised I stayed with blogging. I know just what you mean, I think we all need a little down time and some cooler weather! Thanks for the visit! You would love the textures!

  3. Izzy has beautiful markings and the sunflower is gorgeous. I like the texture(s). I’ll have to learn how to do that too. Beautiful photo with great depth of field!

Are you and your husband going to the Missouri State Fair in August?

    1. Good Evening Theresa! I can see you doing textures in no time! Thank you for the link. I read and tried it as I posted and it highlighted the whole post. I don’t know what I am doing wrong but I will figure it out. Probably at three in the morning!

Yes we are planning on going to the Fair, but it will have to cool down a whole heck of a lot!! You? Did you know they have a photography contest?

      1. Are you trying to link another blog site to your post? If so…type in the site’s name, highlight it, click on the link icon above, when that opens up, paste the link where it asks you to do so. Of course you would have to have copied the link beforehand. Hope this works. Tooke me a very long time to get it…and I had to have my technician’s help…

        my hubby, that is… 😉

        1. Hugmamma thank you so much for the help! But, isn’t there always a “but”? For some reason when I highlight, click on link, put the link in the little box and exit the whole post highlights in blue. As if the whole post is a link back to the site. I am still trying to figure it out. I have linked back before with no problems until the puter went to the BIG CITY for repair. Actually should not be related in any way but I am blaming it on gremlins for now! I will get it worked out, I hope 🙂 Thanks for trying to help and I will try what you suggest again!

  4. Love that photo. I used to play around with Photoshop years ago. It is still on an old computer that is slow as mollases. Maybe one of these days when I feel rich I will buy an updated version and play again. It is so much fun!

    Have a wonderful day.

  5. Hi Pix! That is a great photo. Izzy has the sweetest little face and I just noticed her right front leg is mostly black! She is soooo pretty! I’ll be sure and show this pic later when my daughter gets home, she’ll love it too. Sunflowers are such a happy flower and putting the two together makes for a wonderful picture. I like the textured look, I’ve been meaning to try it sometime, but I’m a procrastinator, too. 😀 Have a splendid day and try to stay cool!!

    1. Good Evening Cheryl! Yep that leg is so funny! She has black eyeliner too! I am glad I am not procrastinating alone, I am in good company! Go to Kim’s Textures in 10 and you will be so happy you did. Fun on these hot days. We are trying to stay cool but the whole thing is getting really old and everything on the Tiny Ten is burning up! “Keep on feeling great” vibes to your Hubby!

  6. We might go to the Missouri State Fair, if it cools down. The Fine Arts Building at the Fair is air conditioned so we usually walk through it. The photography on exhibit is always top-notch. Maybe by the 2012 Fair, I’ll be good enough to enter such a contest.
I wish I could explain how to insert links. It sounds like you need to select (highlight) the word that you want to attach the link to. Anyway, good luck and I hope you aren’t up till three in the morning! Take care. -Theresa

    1. I have never had trouble with links before Theresa. Not until the puter came back from the BIG CITY. Something keeps popping up and prompting me to OK something. Thanks for trying to help. I will figure it out come Heck or high water! We hit the Fine Arts Building too. And we always have to check out the FOOD. Lunch somewhere cool! It would be fun if we could meet you for some ice cream or a snack!

I don’t know when we’re going to the Fair yet. I’ll have to get back with you.
The food at the Fair is a once a year indulgence. I can almost taste the ice cream, candy apples, corn dogs and funnel cake!

        1. You have your very personal IT guy! I will keep working on it and then if nothing happens I might holler for help 😉 I been so busy with Izzy the Busy I can barely think. We don’t know when we are going or if we are going to the Fair. We are going to try. We usually don’t make up our minds until the night before or the morning we go. YES! Corn Dogs and that pineapple freeze kind of concrete thing they had-Yum!

    1. Little Things I am so happy you found Kim’s site! It is a great place to learn and she makes it easy to understand. I am still befuddled by the link business. Theresa from Thirdhandart has tried to help but…. I did manage to get a button/badge to link back to her on my sidebar. Nice to see you, thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thanks Tammy your good words mean a lot to me! I have been enjoying your textures 🙂 Izzy the Busy is difficult to get to slow down for any kind of picture! She is just a blur these days, need to fool with the aperture all the time!! Someone should have warned us how nutsy kittens could be, we had forgotten!

    1. Well Izzy isn’t with us anymore, she has a new family. The whole thing was a bit unsettling and I miss her. But when I visit you and Not Cat and the other kitties on the blogs I follow it makes me smile and I feel better. I just hope she is being loved and respected like she deserves.

    1. Hi frizztext! I am finding the textures fun to play with but I still like those shots out of the camera with just a couple of slight tweaks. But it’s always fun to try something new to keep the brain cells firing : ) Thank you for the visit!
