Captures. And A Few Words.

The View Above. Lunch at Turtles on Little Sarasota Bay.

Siesta Key, Florida

I think that blue and white boat looks as though it is skeered of heights!

  11. Gorgeous blue . . . Pretty fine if there is NO humidity . . .

    May 6, 2012 at 12:03 pm

    • I am so with you on the humidity! It is so hot and humid here in MissouREE that it feels like mid-July~ugh. Been like this for days. Waiting for a coldfront to come thru and blow this stale old air mass outa here! It is less humid and cooler in our favorite place in Florida than it is here.

Go Emily! You must be so proud :)

  21. that poor boat. but it sure provided a great splash of blue in your click! :)

    May 6, 2012 at 10:00 pm

    • Hi Kris! I hope this isn’t another comment in email for you! What is up with all the comments with WP? Have you been getting follow up comments on all the posts you comment on? I am going to have to remember to uncheck when I hit comment. I usually go back and look because the comments are fun. That poor boat needs some water!

      May 7, 2012 at 7:24 am

      • yes, water for the boat please. :)
and yes, what is up with all those comments? it seems that you have to manually ‘unclick’ when leaving a comment. Some bloggers are simply removing the option of ‘notify of me follow-up comments’ – and i see that you have done that, too. i have not yet gone that route, because some bloggers like the option of being notified. but it certainly fills up email boxes very quickly.

i actually like that you copy me back by email if you respond to a comment. that works well! anyhow, trust you are keeping well :)

I will be back to visit you, took a brief look. I’d like to come back and visit when I can kick back and browse. May 9, 2012 at 9:58 am

      • Awwwwwwwwwwww…Yes I’m definitely a horse lover and squirrel lover…I have a children’s book about a horse named “Bob”, coming out soon….Bob’s a real horse that I walked with for two years on and off. So I took lots of photos of both he and his herd…You’ll find some pictures of Bob throughout the blog. I LOVE him! :)

        May 9, 2012 at 10:52 am

  32. I can see me standing at the top there, full steam ahead, w/ arms stretched out shouting, “I’m King (Queen) of the World!” heheheee =)

Love that awesome blue sky! =)

    May 10, 2012 at 9:51 am

  33. Oh yes, my mom rides every chance she gets, which isn’t as often as she’d like… her & a bunch of riders got together a few years ago to ride in The Irish Wilderness just west of here in Oregon county Missouri & they got lost & had to spend the night in the woods, then her horse got loose in the middle of the night & ran away & took 11 days to find her, but she did find her, thank GOD! She was worried sick & just hated to leave knowing her horse was lost in those woods over there for sooo many days! That was a nightmare for her!

I wish I could ride w/ her, but I’m not as brave as she is… I got bucked off a horse when I was little & even tho I’ve ridden since, I’m just too scared to go out on trail rides like she does…

I sure love photographing horses, tho, they’re incredibly beautiful!!! =) I love em, but I’m scared of em, too… go figure! heheheee =)

    May 10, 2012 at 11:48 am

    • Goodness Tricia! What a scary story! I am glad everything worked out well. I would have been a wreck too. Good for her getting to ride!

  36. Have to tell you I saw your profile photo on another blog and was immediately drawn to look. Once you see my own profile photo you’ll see why. I think its really funny!
I also have to ask are you from the Sarasota area?

    May 16, 2012 at 8:04 am

    • Yep! It is funny! No not from Sarasota. Born in Missouri. In Missouri now and contemplating moving to Venice, Florida after years of spending a few weeks of winter there. I just don’t know if I can leave my Tiny Ten acres of heaven here. Love Sarasota and Turtles on the Bay, for a grouper sandwich… :)

Thank you for your visit here!
